Experience your own off-the-grid R & R nature retreat in our enchanting Blue Moon Yurt and immerse yourself in a serene sanctuary nestled deep in the forest. Surrounded by the towering canopy of trees and perched on the slopes of Pleasant Mountain, this intimate retreat offers a magical refuge. The soothing sounds of the nearby mountain stream will calm your senses and transport you to a peaceful world of tranquility.
The Blue Moon Yurt is your gateway to a simple, yet fulfilling life off the grid. A true escape, this retreat encourages you to disconnect completely from the digital world. Accessible year-round, the yurt is reached by a rugged, 5-minute hike up a steep, 500-foot incline, ensuring that you are truly enveloped by nature. Step out your door and you’ll find yourself at the edge of endless hiking and snowshoeing trails, perfect for those who crave outdoor adventure. Whether you’re exploring the pristine wilderness of Western Maine’s lakes and mountains or venturing into the nearby Mt. Washington Valley in New Hampshire, the possibilities are endless.
While the Blue Moon Yurt offers you an authentic experience in nature, it doesn’t come with modern amenities like solar power or Wi-Fi. There is no running water inside the yurt, but we provide you with jugs of fresh, pure mountain spring water for drinking, cooking, and cleaning. A nearby composting toilet adds to the eco-conscious appeal of the yurt. A short 5-minute hike up the access road leads you to a warm shower, where you can refresh and refill your water supplies.
For your convenience, a 2-burner propane stove is provided for simple, home-cooked meals, complete with dishes, utensils, and cookware. The warmth of your yurt is maintained by a cozy wood stove, and we provide plenty of firewood to keep you snug throughout your stay.
Let the Blue Moon Yurt be your peaceful retreat in the wilderness, where nature’s beauty is the only distraction and every moment is an invitation to relax, reconnect, and rejuvenate.
IMPORTANT NOTES: You need to provide your own linens/towels and pillow and we recommend a 20 degree F. rated mummy sleeping bags in fall, winter and early spring.

Rural, countryside destination along a quiet, well-maintained, unpaved road. Forest, mountains, ponds, lakes, rivers, our own spring-fed mountain brook, wildlife, and clear skies.
We feel very remote and rural yet are accessible to nearby villages and towns for your sundries, ice, supplies, groceries, farmers markets, dining and the like.
What we love most about this part of the world is that the landscape, waterways, and mountains are so incredibly beautiful (stunning, really). And amidst the beauty, culture thrives, through art, music, dining and a warm, friendly, safe community of people surrounding this place, making it a getaway that feels like home.
We are grateful we get to share it and call it home, too.
